I've finished a load of soldering today, so I should be able to post the next part of the series soon... I even managed to avoid burning myself on the iron, which is unusual!

Samba has pointed out an interesting motor/thruster unit on dealextreme - its a 7cm ducted fan designed for aircraft, but with quite a powerful brushless DC motor on it. I've ordered on (since it was very cheap) even though I think the thruster size is a bit small (I was hoping for something more in the 10 to 15cm range) and the motor seems a bit high revving - it will try do around 30,000 rpm at 12v, whereas I'd like something more like 3000 rpm.... but I'll give it a go!

I'm hoping to get a speed controller and maybe another motor from a local model shop tomorrow, so hopefully I can start testing out the software that I not doing nearly as much work on as I should!
