Zagg InvisibleShield scratch-proof case for iPod Touch
Price £11.99 with free delivery from play.com

InvisibleShield logoWhile indisputably a lovely looking bit of kit, the iPod touch is also scarily easy to scratch, so one of the first things you’ll want to invest in is a case of some kind. The Zagg InvisibleShield claims to use military technology to save your iPod without hiding its good looks.

The InvisibleShield has been on sale for several years, and is available for about 1,500 products including laptops, phones and MP3 players. The main attraction of the InvisibleShield over other types of case is that it doesn’t add any bulk to your device, and since it’s transparent it doesn’t stop you showing off your new piece of kit.

Zagg claim the InvisibleShield was originally developed for the military to protect the leading edges of helicopter rotor blades. Whether or not this is actually true, I’d heard good things about the product in the past, and so I ordered one to protect my new, and already scratched, iPod Touch.

The InvisibleShield comes in a very generic plastic package – in fact its not immediately obvious which device its for until you read the small sticker on the front.

Inside the pack is a small spray bottle of clear liquid (which I suspect is just normal tap water), a hard rubbery squeegee, and the InvisibleShield itself, which arrived in the form of two thin clear plastic sheets, pre-cut to fit an iPod Touch and mounted on removable backing paper.
